ABOUT HEDNESFORD AFC

Hednesford AFC is a grassroots football club based in Hednesford in the West Midlands.

We were founded through a simple but powerful idea — to create a football environment where players, families, and coaches are supported, valued, and developed from the very first kick.

​

What started in April 2021 as a single development session has grown into something far bigger: a full club with multiple teams, a thriving development programme, one-to-one coaching, community initiatives, and a clear pathway for every young player.

🌱 Our Journey So Far

Our story began on Saturday mornings with just a few cones, a ball, and a belief that football could be done differently. A development session quickly grew — and not just in numbers, but in impact.

From those early sessions, Hednesford AFC has developed into a club with:

• 12+ grassroots teams

• A thriving development programme for ages 3–14

• Players moving into MJPL, academy trials, and professional pathways

• A mental health initiative supporting players, coaches, and parents

• A training camp in Spain, a well-designed coaching curriculum, and ongoing community growth

• Keeping football inclusive and accessible to all

Our philosophy isn’t just about kids — it includes coaches too. We’re proud that many of our coaches have come through the club, grown alongside their teams, and now deliver age-appropriate sessions that reflect our values and coaching DNA.

Whether a child starts at 3 or 13, our spiral curriculum and positive culture allow them to join, progress, and thrive at their own pace.
